The TEC 140 showed a brighter planet and this helped with seeing a little more detail. Color looked slightly warmer in the TEC 140 than the FS-128. The TEC 140 showed the sky to be a little blacker around the planet. False color around limb of Jupiter was a little more in the FS-128. More detail was seen in the TEC 140 but not much.

Takahashi FS-128 fluorite doublet at f/8.1 with fl=1040mm in original packing box with copy of instruction manual. OTA is in excellent+ condition, there are no scratches or dents anywhere and no paint touch-ups on the OTA. The f/8.8 FOA-60 has some field curvature whereas the f/10 FS-60Q has a corrected flat field. The FOA-60Q is f/15 so FC isn't much of an intrinsic concern but it's nevertheless a flat field quad, too. As a practical visual matter, take your pick between the FOA-60 and FS-60Q, but I like the flat field advantage of the latter.

Conclusion. The Takahashi FS-60 is a remarkable little telpe and a lot of fun to use. You will find yourself occasionally playing "can it see" games but it is also capable of delivering a very satisfying observing experience. The baby Tak has completely redefined my definition of what grab-and-go actually is.

Dew shield: It's 8" long and 140mm (5" 1/2) in diameter, all metal of course. On this model it does not retract but can be unscrewed for collimation only. You can't take away the dewshield for transport for instance, as the dust cap would not fit at the top of the OTA, and because the thread is slightly greased. Tube:
